Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS)
Melissa came to Hilltop Electrolysis looking for some help to remove her facial hair that had been growing for quite a few years due to a hormonal imbalance called Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS). PCOS is a condition that causes an increased or abnormal amount of androgens. Some symptoms of PCOS are: Irregular menstrual cycles, excessive hair growth (hirsutism) on the face, back, chest, booty, inner thighs etc, weight gain, thinning hair on the head, difficulty getting pregnant and more. If you suspect you may have this medical condition you should seek out medical help.
I can't begin to tell you how much Brookes at Hilltop Electrolysis has helped me! From the moment I met with her during our consultation she made me feel comfortable, secure and that the hair on my face wouldn't be there forever. When I say hair I mean hair! I had what you would consider a beard, the hair wrapped down along my jawline and covered my chin and went down my neck I also had some on my cheeks. I was embarrassed and wouldn't let my boyfriend ever touch my face, I shaved my face every day sometimes twice a day. Brookes was upfront and honest and told me exactly what we were up against, she told me it would be a long journey about 18months to 2 years but that if we were consistent the hair would die and NEVER come back. After trying everything else what did I have to lose? So I put my faith in her and went to all my scheduled appts we worked for hours slowly I started to see progress. My bi weekly appts got shorter and shorter. It took about a year of treatment and I was down to only an hour appt every month. I then started going for 30 mins just to get the last stragglers that were holding on for dear life. I now go to Brookes for any new hairs that pop up and have my life back. I am so thankful for everything Brookes has done for me and now not only consider her my electrologist but friend.
